Indirect Costs

Cost items not directly related to producing a product or providing a service specified in a contract or grant, but rather costs incurred in maintaining contractor/grantee personnel and facilities. These costs include overhead and administrative costs that cover rent, administrative personnel, furniture, and other items that the contract/grant do not specifically cover.
