An advisory committee is a group of individuals who has been selected by an organization to provide technical consultation in a variety of areas (e.g., fundraising, outreach, strategic planning). Less formal than a board of directors, an advisory committee meets periodically to provide advice and feedback to the organization. The committee does not have legal responsibility or authority over organizational business.
